Refund Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

A donation is given freely, so as a rule it is not returned — the work it pays for begins right away. There are, however, situations where we do refund.

1. When we refund

  • Duplicate payment — the same donation went through twice by mistake. The extra amount is returned in full.
  • Wrong amount — you meant ₹500 and ₹5,000 was charged. Tell us within 7 days.
  • Payment without your consent — someone else used your card or account. Full refund, and we investigate.
  • Technical failure — money was deducted but no donation was recorded.

2. When we do not refund

  • A change of mind, once the money has already been spent.
  • Donations older than 30 days, except in the situations above.
  • A donation whose 80G receipt you have already claimed in your tax return — you would need to withdraw that claim first.

3. How to request a refund

  1. Email smileandcarefoundation7@gmail.com with “Refund request” in the subject line.
  2. Include the donation date, the amount, the receipt number (or transaction ID), and the reason.
  3. We reply within 3 working days.

4. How long it takes

Once approved, the refund goes back the same way the payment came in. Banks usually take 5-10 working days to credit it — that part is up to the bank, not us.

5. What happens to the receipt

A refunded donation’s 80G receipt is cancelled automatically and the donation is left out of Form 10BD. If you have already claimed it in your tax return, you will need to revise that return.

6. Money deducted but no receipt?

This happens with UPI sometimes: the bank debits the amount but no record is created at the payment gateway. Banks normally reverse it automatically within 5 working days. If it does not come back, contact us with your UTR or transaction reference and we will check it ourselves.
