Privacy Policy

Smile and Care Foundation(“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

1. What we collect

• When you donate: your name, email, mobile number, and — if you choose to give them — your PAN and address.
• Volunteer and contact forms: name, email, mobile, city, and whatever you write to us.
• Newsletter: your email address only.
• Payment details (card, UPI, netbanking):these never reach us. Payment happens on Razorpay’s secure page.

2. Why we collect it

• To send you a donation receipt and 80G certificate.
• To file Form 10BD under the Income Tax Act. This sends donor names, PANs and amounts to the Income Tax Department. It is a legal obligation, not a choice.
• To answer your questions or discuss your volunteer application.
• To send updates about our work — only if you subscribed.

3. What we never do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not share it with third parties for marketing.
• We do not publish your name in donor lists if you chose “anonymous”.

4. Who we share it with

Only these, and only as much as necessary:

• Razorpay — to process payments.
• The Income Tax Department — through Form 10BD, once a year.
• Our hosting and email providers — to store data and send email.
• Anyone the law or a court requires us to.

5. Information about the people we help

A beneficiary’s story appears on this site only when we hold written consent from them — or from a guardian, where a minor is involved. We never publish full names or full addresses. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and the page comes down when it is.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete your information — except what we are legally required to keep (donation and 80G records must be kept for eight years).
• Unsubscribe from our newsletter.

7. Cookies

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookies are the technical ones the site needs to work, such as the admin login session.

8. Security

Data travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is stored in an access-controlled database. A donor’s PAN and phone number never appear on a public page. That said, no system on the internet is perfectly secure — we do what is reasonable and expected.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
